Picture this… You have a great meal in front of you. You dig into it with gusto and are just about finished. However, as you get near to the end of your meal, you actually realize you are full. What do you do?

Your best bet is to STOP EATING! Even if you only have a couple of bites left. You are much better off leaving the food and walking away… or even asking for a take-out box. Of course I knew that. you might say. But do you???

Learn to recognize the signs – they are very evident. Especially if you are paying attention to your food. Listen to your stomach and don’t allow your head to take over. Yes, it tastes good, but it will also taste good as a leftover too. Think of it this way… you will get to enjoy your delicious food twice!

  1. Tom Swann says:

I eat until my stomach can take no more. That says that I am full so I stop at that point. Maybe that sometimes means that I eat a little more than I should but that is just occasionally.

    • Recognizing when you are full is half the battle. Unfortunately, for most people, eating until their stomach can take no more has put them way past the amount they should be eating. Many people have huge appetites and can fit quite a lot into their stomachs. That does not mean they should be eating that much. And for a lot of people, they simply have lost the ability to know when to stop – eating until they feel like they will burst.

Tom, if that method works for you and you remain slim eating that way, then you are one of the lucky ones. For the average “Joe” chances are it will lead to remaining overweight… or rapidly getting there.
